In this way, we would like to introduce you to the methodology and approach of our regular and honest renovation of HALABALA armchairs type H-269, in this case for a customer who lives near Central Park in New York and chose us for the complete implementation.
THE STORY OF HALABALA CHAIRS H-269FROM MÁLA CHOCNA TO Central Park IN NEW YORK how does the renovation actually take place...?
Calico
It is a medium-weight fabric in canvas, mainly made of cotton yarn, which is most often we use it as an intermediate layer between individual renovation compositions.
African grass
This is an increasingly scarce but high-quality material. African grass is used to make a rough pillow that can fill in unevenness. The main feature of African grass is its strength in bending, which means we can repeatedly bend and squeeze it without damaging it like other materials.
Springs
We exclusively use traditional double-cone compression springs. The height of the spring determines the hardness of the seat or backrests of our refurbished armchairs. This is one of the many details consulted with our customers.
Chair frame
In most cases, the structure of the chair is in a state that requires careful inspection and often also repairs of a local nature in the form of strengthening, treatment against wood-destroying insects, gluing or replacement of new parts that are no longer compatible with the further use of the articles.
Upholstery wadding
Material produced from textile scraps, which we use in the composition of the armchair to finalize the shape of the seat and backrest before the final covering fabric itself.
Horsehair
Horse hairs give armchairs flexibility and softness, so they are an essential part of upholstery using the traditional period method. This material is also increasingly difficult to secure over time.
Jute
This is a natural upholstery fabric, which in our case is most often used to cover springs and also African grass for subsequent hand stitching and thus strengthening the entire seat or backrest.
Covering fabric
The final covering fabric is always one of the most important materials, which subsequently determine the character and visual appearance of the final articles after renovation. In our case, we use above-standard quality upholstery fabrics from selected manufacturers, mainly from England.
Straps
The basic building block of every armchair, where the correct placement of the straps provides the basis for the placement of new springs and other layers determining the individual stack of armchairs.

meticulous hand restoration, preserving the spirit of the item and using the finest materials
Each piece of furniture has its own history, sometimes very complex and dramatic, sometimes peaceful. But never ordinary. At the time of creation it was already distinctive and high-quality furniture. The owners knew it. We move its story further, sometimes just by pushing it along, sometimes breathing new life into it. It is only up to you how its story continues.
